Guide to peaceful peaceful sleep every night

If you are amongst the large number of people that have difficulty sleeping at night or you know somone who does this guide will be of great help to you.


There are two categories of causes of sleeplessness.
1.Physiological (bodily ailment)


2.Psychological (mind caused)


Sleeplessness is more often psychological than physiological.However if you have sleeping difficulties, the first step is to consult a doctor to confirm the cause.If the cause is psychological,this guide will be of great help to you.
This guide is written with the assumption that you are in good health.
Causes of Sleeplessness And Solutions:
 

1. Worry

This probably is the biggest cause of sleepless nights for most people.We worry about practically everything -money,relationships,safety,social impressions.The list is endless.
The things we worry about rarely happens.You should know this from your own experience.
Solution-
Look at your the condition as a challenge,an opportunity to grow as you find solutions to your problems.
Worry is simply negative thinking.You are holding mental pictures of what you do not want to happen instead of what you want.
As you go to bed visualize what you want and not what you do not want.Then say to yourself something like "I have the ability to find solution to this problem and every thing will work in my favor".

2.Envy
Envy is feeling bad about the success of others especially people that are close to you.It can cause you to stay awake wondering why you never get the breaks.You envy others who have more money,better jobs,better homes possessions etc.
Solution-
To envy is to doubt your own ability to achieve what the other person has.It is a mental acknowledgment of your own inferiority.
You have to build confidence in your ability to achieve what you want and even better than what the other person has.

3.Hatred

One with a bitter and hateful heart never sleeps as well as one whose mind is at peace with himself and with the world.Hatred keeps you awake and even when sleep comes it is restless and fitful.The hater is literately "burned up" with the hatred.

Solution-
Know that hatred never harms the hated.It is the hater that pays the penalty.
When you lie awake dwelling on the cause of the hatred,you are harming no one but yourself and extending the harm that has already been done.You are actually allowing yourself to be hurt more by staying awake.
Simply offer a simple prayer asking for blessings for the one you hate.This will dissolve your hatred and you will drop off into restful sleep.

4.Carrying Work To Bed/Planning Ahead
Most people do not leave their work in the office.They spend hours reviewing the days work- what they should or should not have done.After that they start thinking of what to do and not to do the next day.
All progressive people plan ahead.As admirable as this is though,the persistent sleeplessness results in a weakened physical condition that will later hold you back from what you planned to do.
Solution-
Take a few minutes before entering your bedroom to review the day's work.Make quick decisions on what to do the next day.Make a firm decision not to think of anything except sleep in the bedroom.Separate your bedroom for sleep and rest only.

5.Guilty Consciousness
A guilty consciousness comes when you do something that is bad or you feel you have been negligent in what you know you should do.
Solution-
Guilt is always about something in the past.It is beyond your ability to change the past.Let bygones be bygones,learn from the mistake of the past,forgive yourself and go to bed with a strong resolve to be better in the future.

6.Laziness
When your body does not expend sufficient energy (physical and mental) during the day it becomes a bit difficult to fall asleep easily.
Solution-
Learn to engage your faculties during the cause of the day.The sleep of a laboring man is sweet.

7.Fear
There are many kinds of fears but generally fear is about loss or death.A man may fear death because of ill health or fear dying from an accident of attack.
You could fear the loss of your job or relationships.Like worry, fears become amplified at night when all is quiet.
Solution-
Deal with fear as with worry.Learn to enjoy life.Appreciate the things you have in your life presently.

Fear of any kind increases the chances of its occurence.Let your mind dwell continuously on what you desire and not the opposite.
